Rotary BowelScan Redland City

BowelScan is a public awareness program seeking to increase community knowledge of bowel cancer and its symptoms, as well as the distribution of faecal occult blood testing kits to facilitate early diagnosis.

The program has in the past been conducted during the month of March every year in Redland City, with kits being returned by the end of April.  People residing outside Redlands are also able to purchase kits during this period by going to the “Get a Kit” page on this site.

In 2012, the program has been delayed due to the test kits undergoing testing by the Therapuetic Goods Administration, and now that this has been finalised, the program has been rescheduled for May.  This program offers the cheapest available option to undertake regular checks for bowel cancer, as the cost of analysis of all completed samples is included in te purchase price, and the self-test kits ae TGA Approved.
